Buzzi Unicem Preheater Project

The Maryneal Preheater Building is a pivotal component of Buzzi Unicem USA’s modernization of its cement production facility in Maryneal, Texas. Completed in 2016, this upgrade replaced the existing preheater kilns with a state-of-the-art preheater kiln system, enhancing both production capacity and environmental performance.

The new system significantly improved energy efficiency, reducing specific heat consumption and lowering emissions per ton of clinker produced. This modernization not only increased the plant’s production capacity from 550,000 to 1.2 million short tons per year but also incorporated advanced air pollution control systems that comply with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulations.

The project exemplifies Buzzi Unicem USA’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, positioning the Maryneal plant as a leader in environmentally responsible cement manufacturing.
