Tree Of Life Project
Tree Of Life Project
Tree of Life is a 174-unit mixed-use apartment building designed to meet Passive House certification standards. Developed in partnership with The First Presbyterian Church of Jamaica, construction began in June 2017. The project integrates a community facility that will be managed by the Church to serve neighbourhood needs. It will also include a large community health centre to promote wellness and accessibility.
The building’s rooftop will feature an extensive photovoltaic solar array to generate renewable energy. A gas-fired cogeneration system will provide on-site power and act as a backup during outages. Residents will enjoy modern amenities such as a gym, community room, and an upper rooftop deck offering panoramic city views. Each residential floor will include shared laundry facilities for added convenience. The project aims for occupancy in 2021, emphasizing sustainability and comfort. Recognized by NYSERDA’s Buildings of Excellence Award, Tree of Life exemplifies low-carbon living and enhanced resident well-being
